1978 CHEVROLET CORVETTE, L48, AUTO, AIR, TARGA TOPS, 25TH ANNIVERSARY
Up for sale I have a beautiful 1978 Chevrolet Corvette C3 imported by myself from California in original condition. Vehicle was built and sold in late 78 but is designated a 1979 as the model year.
This is a 25th Anniversary 1953-1978. All 1978 Corvettes had the 25th Anniversary emblem on the bonnet. The vehicle has a smooth shifting Auto and is an L48 350 V8 with the twin removable targa roofs. The car appears to be in absolutely stock standard non modified condition and the only extras we can see is a non genuine (not connected) stereo and Alloy Wheels. It was built in the St Louis Plant.
The car has been recently repainted in its factory original colour of Beige Frost (Paint Code 59L). The very recent paint job although possibly a 24 hour one looks bright and shiny from all angles. In fact it is one of the better cheaper paint jobs that I have seen. The interior is deadstock original although seats have been retrimmed in Velour.
The car is over 30 years old and thus can be registered in every state of Australia as a Left Hand Drive Vehicle.
The car appears mechanically good with a sweet sounding super reliable engine which starts without hesitation and does not overheat. Looks like a new radiator has been recently added. The auto shifts real nice. A wheel alignment would be a good idea. All suspension rubbers appears original and would be due for a replacement.
Some other general information about the car:
Paint as previously described is a new respray and is very presentable and shiny for cruising now
Interior vinyl a bit stained in places, seats have a couple of spots on them and carpet presents well. Gauges appear to work but tacho and speedo seem to give incorrect reading. Hand brake needs adjusting. Plastics a bit pitted and scratched and auto shift boot is ripped and worn.
The air conditioner works but is currently degassed due to import restrictions.
Headlights move automatically up and down perfectly.
The windows wind up and down well and the auto door locks work fine.
The car is fitted with a set of polished alloy wheels.
The targa tops come on and off well.
The car starts immediately and drives with no hesitancy.
The power disk brakes work well but pull to the right under heavy braking.
Rubbers are perished in many places and a rubber kit would improve the car. Some minor trim parts are missing such as shroud that targa top fits into on pasenger side.
Blinkers not working so will probably need a flasher can. Neither is horn, not sure of problem. This car with a good service and a bit of fine tuning will easily be worth a lot more than this price.

Im sure it will be the one of the cheapest running C3 Corvettes in Australia.
Car is for sale on alternate site and will be removed if sold there.
