Hi Jethro:24
17X11 will not fit on the rear a ZR1 has a wider body to take the larger wheels;30

17x11 polished ZR-1 wheels with 315/35/17 are fitted to the back of my 86 without any problem.

On the 88 you just use the 50mm offset version as fitted to the GS. (As seen in VOs' thread)

You can get the aftermarket ZR1 wheels in 11 inch to fit you just have to get the right offset. If memory servs me i think its +56 for the 11inch rears on the 88 to 96
As for the 86 they have  a narrower wheel track in the rear and thats why they fit the 87 and earlier. 88 to 96 were different.

(84-87) 17x9.5 =38mm, 17x11=36mm

(88-96) 17x9.5=56mm, 17x11=50mm

I have a spare set of 20 x 8.5" VERDE chrome wheels off my 86, if interested make me an offer or call me 0421859246.  I run 20's on mine no trouble at all.  The wheels are in very good condition.
