In line P/S cooler fitted.
Brutus:
Thought some might be interested in seeing the in line power steering cooler I've just fitted. I had originally intended fitting it as an auxillary trans cooler, but opted for it's present configuration after having the side mount extractors modified which placed them fairly close to the steering box. I bent up some 3/8" stainless steel tubing for the fluid lines (polishing them first of course :b2) as well as making some alloy mounts for the cooler itself.

Nice work Brutus!! The steering box on my old '79 would leak in very hot conditions, after fitting a steering cooler that stopped! I must bring my books on building strokers over! hint hint. I am also keen to see Scott81's DVD if only for the sound track!!!!!:drink:drink:22:22:drink:drink

I've been scouring the net for everything I can find on stroker motors so anything you have would be appreciated Dave. All I need to find now is a cam to suit and I'll start building it. All expectations indicate 430+ lbs/ft of torque! I'm not too worried about HP figures cause it's torque that walks!
Btw, I picked up a T 700 R4 trans on Friday. It's a fully rebuilt pre electronic model with Kevlar bands, Corvette servos, manualised valve body, etc and supposedly built to handle 600hp for $1500.00!. It had a 4000 stall convertor which ain't too good for the street so I'm on the lookout for a decent one to suit a slightly milder application. Probably around 2600.

Sounds like an absolute bargain for the gearbox you got. Choosing a camshaft is one of the real fun things when building an engine. Have you seen Ryan's Engine Combinations? It is a good site, don't be put off by the bible stuff! It appears Christians can be rev heads too!!;ay
I reckon it is a pretty good site and I don't fear God!!
Check it out

I've seen Ryan's page with all those engine combos and it really makes you want them all.:b2 Now you've made me go back there and droll all over them again. Thanks heaps. One thing I still have to work out with this 383 is whether I need a cam with a small base cirlce or not. I'll have to check the rod bolts to see if they've been clearanced or not. Fortunately there's no ruch with this project. Gonna check out C.O.M.E.'s web page for a cam selection data sheet.
