69 Vet Pipes???
« on: January 08, 2011, 03:37:38 PM »
Hi All....need a bit of technical info.

I have been looking for a 69 Vet to buy for while now.

Found one in the US and the picture from the back shows the exhaust pipes not coming through the body. They get too the back of the car then the pipe takes a bend down about 45 degrees pointing at the road. The body has no cut outs to accommodate the pipes.

All other pics I have seen show the pipes coming through cutouts in the fibreglass of the body with a small chrome strip around the cut outs.

Cheers

Baz

Hi Baz

You’re correct about the pipes going through the rear panel.

I would say the car had side pipes once in its life time from factory & someone in the last 42 years has made the mod.

OK...cheers.

Takes a bit of the look away from the car in my opinion.

Saves you having to buy a "side pipe" filler panel when you put side pipes on!
