Replacement Front Ball joint boot
« on: June 29, 2010, 10:03:34 PM »
I seem to have lost one of the rubber boots that go over the ball joints.  That or I never got one.  I can get a set of poly ones from VBandP for $10 US, but the shipping is $35 so that pretty much kills it. :grr:

VBandP

Anyone have any ideas where I could get a replacement boot from?  The ones repco sell aren't the right size.

Or is anyone thinking of making a purchase from VBand P in the near future that I could piggyback on?

I'll be buying front and rear springs from them next year but I'm guessing you want it quicker than that!

Actually, that's an idea.  I was going to buy a set if kings springs for the front of the car, but I might get a set from VBandP instead.  It'll probably work out cheaper or similar, and I can get the ball joint covers.

How could it cost $35???  I bought a minor tie rod/ball joint/idler arm kit from Ecklers landed for about AU$150 all up.

Boots are only $8.99 from Ecklers and shouldn't cost more than $10-15 bucks or so postage.  You guys get a 20% discount don't you?

I think $35 was the generic overseas shipping cost for VBandP.
After another quick browse of their site, I have decided I need front springs and a new swaybar as well...
:drag:
I may as well do this properly the first time. Lucky tomorrow is payday.

Glad I could inspire you!

I agree do it right the first time. When I rebuilt the front/rear I put in the new shocks but I didn't have the new springs so I reinstalled the old ones. It anoys me every time I think about it.
