C5 Ignition switch
« on: January 24, 2010, 04:50:30 PM »
Eventually after 5+ years you may find that the Ignition switch in a C5 begins to play up.

Symptoms are the dash lights don't illuminate properly at start, engine cranks for a long time, or even stalls. This is a common symptom on long life cars and is often caused by carbon buildup on the switch contacts. It is very easy to fix by disassembling the Ignition switch and cleaning the contacts with an eraser.

I have a spare (fixed) switch for anyone who needs it.
