number plate size

cam454:
Does anyone know if there are any companies that can custom make number plates. As many of you know a standard plate doesn't fit between the bumpers on a 71. I realise that this is against the law but it is an avenue I wish to explore. Any help would be great. Thanx

How about Bi Centenary plates? They're exactly the same size as US plates.

I don't think you can get NSW Bicentenary plates now:

There are lots of companies in the USA that make "novelty" plates to order. Just Google "custom license plates".

You pays your money, and you takes your chances.

I had to cut the edges off my plates on my 76 - then I bought 5 digit plate covers and trimmed the edge just enough it would fit in the bumper.

No-one would have ever known.

The way to get Bi Centenary Plates is to buy a car that has them on (typically a '87 or so model) put normal plates on that car, sell it, then transfer the plates to your 'Vette. I did that and made a profit along the way.
