Adam...here's a series of articles from Chev High Performance magazine that follows the progressive build up of a 305 Chev in a mid 80s Camaro. You may already have read this, but just in case I thought it might be of some interest to you.

Those figures arnt very impressive without the NOS:b2
1980 LG4 stock 305 running LPG.

No they're not really. I think they could have gone further with that motor before resorting to NOS. It looks like they were after some impressive figures to make the article more exciting rather than delving any further into it's development. Disappointing really cause it started out as a good idea and a story worth following.
