I finally passed my ADR's yesterday, a long time coming, 13 years in fact.

A huge thanks to Geoff Eaton for his custom made seat belt anchors, a nice chap and prompt delivery too, the belts went in as if they were from the factory.

Now my biggest problem is working out how mount Australian standard number plates on the car, I cant afford custom plates so I need to mount standard size, the front does not fit between the bumperettes on a 79 and the rear is about 1cm too wide for the back recess, I am not allowed to cut or bend, what did you guys do to make yours fit??????

Hi Dennis. Good to see you finally got it on the road on a regular basis!

I'd imagine you'd have to space it out with some small tubing and a long bolt??

Hi Dennis, don't know about Qld., but NSW issues Bi Centenary plates back in the late '80's. These plates were exactly the size of US plates. I bought an '88 Toyota with BiCentenary plates, put normal plates on it and put the Bi Centenary plates on hold until I needed them, then sold the old Toyota again. Made about $200 on the deal and got plates that fit exactly. There was no premium on these plates back then, the RTA hadn't wised up to that in those days.

mate used a piece of stiff rubber hose, ( garden stuff) and long bolts... thats on a 77.
doesnt look out of place too much

If you dont mind paying extra, get custom made ones from the US that can be made to look identical but fit perfect!! If thats the way you want to go I'll have to find the website, I've got it somewhere?
