More guitar/paint projects
« on: January 14, 2009, 08:04:24 PM »
Since I've had a bit of spare time on my hands over the last couple of weeks I've got stuck into a project I started ages ago and it's been sitting around for 12 months unfinished.

Queensland maple neck thru with Tasmanian Blackwood capped wings. Ebony fingerboard.

I cannot finish it quite yet as I'm waiting on some parts from the USA, but it'll be a trans blank burst when it's finished - like this: (no i didn't make that one!)

I usually don't get time to build anything for myself!

It is a plan for my retirement though, potter around and build guitars and other woodwork  at my own will.

Had a look nifty - You're more game than I.

I've often thought it'd be great to paint my car but at the end of the day if I stuffed it up I still have to pay someone else to do it!

There is a guy in the club named Peter. He has a red C3. He has carved out some amazing guitars. One Like the Alien and another C3 corvette themed one. There are both made out of Red Cedar and are awsome. Surely someone knows how to get in touch with him.
The only thing Moronic about panel beating are the mates you inherit that want freebie paint jobs ;57

Not too much progress on the vette - but I have painted two more guitars!

Heres a preview:

This pic prior to final sanding so the clear coat is still orange peeled.

These next two pics are taken prior to clear, so the basecoat is not "popping" yet.
