Finally got there!!!
Smithy007:
Well, the day finally came, but not without it's problems. An inspection at the pits, an appointment with an engineer then a meeting with the head RTA inspector and we're there... LUCRF has new markings
The only reason I had to get it engineered was because the inspectors said, "love the suspension, looks great but because it's been so modified, off you go" :flower
Anyway, the engineer said that it was the best handling vet he has driven in 25 years ;35 and had no problems signing off.
Oh and just thought I'd add, lap belts for a 69 convertible CAN be done, the way to get around it is.......standard fitment was a lap belt and the lap/sash was an OPTION - RPO A85 of which 600 units were fitted. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. ;mmm (there is documentation available to justify this - just)
If anyone needs detailed help in getting over the line with RTA, just let me know. :22
