March 1st - American Car Sunday - # CE013
budskis:
I am only a new member but I was told by a senior member tonight that it's hard to get some of you guys out of bed on a Sunday morning...well, this is my very first club type event (EVER) and I have owned a lot of American Muscle in my time so it would be nice to see the Chevy Logo flying especially if the Mustang people flock in droves. So I hope to see MOST of you Vette owners there. It sounds like an awesome event and I am very excited to be a part of your club....anyway, what's the point of owning an amazing car if you can't show it off to the little people every now and then...;58

See you there bright and early for breakfast!

Great turnout guys! I counted 29 Vettes.
Special commendation to MR 502 for fronting with a heavily bandaged foot and crutches following recent surgey.
Both organisers, Bob and Kevin, told me they were very happy with our display, and I think our end of the field generated a lot more attention that the Mustang end (but then I may be a tad biased :mmm).
The public was still coming though the turnstiles at 3.30pm! Bob Radnidge told me at close-up that the gate takings (all for charity) were "bloody great", so that's the main thing.
It's unfortunate that the breakfast cooks underestimated the supply requirement and ran out of provisions before 8am -- but they are Rotary volunteers and do their best with whatever information they are given by the organisers ahead of time.
