Split Window Coupe
eryck:
Greetings to all. I am a brand noobie. Don't even have a car yet! But looking for a 63 split window in silver. I registered because I came across this car:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1963-Chevrolet-Corvette-STINGRAY-Sebring-Silver-4sp-M_W0QQitemZ270288725305QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Cars?hash=item270288725305&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
Plus, I grew up in Sydney and therefore feel more comfortable buying a car from Australia. Just seems like I know the place and it's much closer to where I am. I live in Hong Kong now.
Anyway, I did check with the US forums and am not keen on this car now that the engine is not a 63 but a 68.
Was also going to ask you guys about converting from LHD to RHD because I cannot register cars in HK if they are LHD no matter how old. I've decided however that I won't and will just drive it on a trade plate, that is if I find the car.
Anyway, what do you guys think of this car anyway? And if you guys know of a silver 63 swc that no body here wants to buy, let me know!
By the way, I am a member on many forums and have never seen any that's as animated as this in terms of the icons....would not have expected any less from a forum in Australia!

Welcome to the forum.
From the pics it seems great, however I myself have bought cars site unseen simply from photos and have been ripped off badly.
It's always a huge risk.
nifty:
buyer beware... also ORIGINALITY is everything on a classic like a c2.... HANG OUT FOR A MATCHING NUMBER CAR....
welcome.
MADLT1:
wellcome erck;32you can drive a car left hand drive fully regesterd in nsw if it is 30 years old,so if you want a matching numgers 63 you should leave it left hand drive as to maintain its originality, you will be paying top dollar for one as they are a rare breed indeed, good luck with your search and keep in touch;35
WARFARIN:
Eryck, The cars from this seller seem expensive? Have you checked alternative sites? If you want something from Austtralia check out the usual suspects like drive.com.au or carsales.com.au
Cheers
David
