Question to 1970 owners

(1/2) > >>

demonx:
Apparenty 1970 has a unique brake console specific to the year.

Does anyone here have a 1970 that has not been "restored" that can tell me what is unique about it!

My car has a vinyl console and everywhere I look for a replacement they are the plastic ones and the list says 1969-1970 whereas that's different to what I have and not 1970 specific.

Thanks in advance.

jolinari:
if I am looking under the right section of 70-72 NCRS third edition

may be Madlt1 would be able to comfirm it

Also it says Center arm rest/park brake lever console is color matched to he interior. Check for cracks in the plastic...etc

demonx:
Thanks for the info, however that seems to describe the shift console - not the park brake console.

The added comment below about the color matched brake lever console makes sense, but does it say anything else?

...it says check for cracks in the plastic and check condition of sliding seal around the park Brake lever.Check for wear where seat belt receivers rub against console...

parking brake lever black plastic, diamond pattern with chrome trim...etcbut nothing about Park brake console!!!
Then it jumps to new section:
Shift boot

Bugger! Thanks for looking though. Very handy to have a network like this place.

As for the console - The thing is cracked. That's why I wanted to replace it!
