I need to know what this switch does!

Under the dash - in between the two vacuum over ride pull down knobs, there is a two way switch with a black knob on it. What's it for??

While on topic, why is there two vacuum over ride knobs? On my 76 there was only one. Is the second for the wipe door?

I'm in the process of redoing my Vacuum system as its not working properly so I cannot ID exactly what these switches/levers do! I've tried pulling and switching, but they do nothing at the moment! I've replaced all tree actuators and now it looks like I'll be replacing every hose and then see what happens.

The knob in the middle is a rotary action on/off electrical switch. It allows you to stop the electric wipers in mid operation so that you can maintain or replace them.

When you put the normal wiper switch into the "off" position, the wipers automatically park themselves down in the bay under the wiper door and the door closes.

So, to work on the wiper blades, switch on wipers as normal and then use that rotary switch to interrupt the wipers.

Don't forget to switch it back again when finished otherwise you'll think your wipers have gone on the fritz next time you need to use them.

One vacuum switch manually opens the wiper door, the other pops up the headlights. Naturally, the vacuum system needs to have vacuum in it at the time for either switch to be effective.

I guessed the second vacuum might have been for the wiper door, but I would have never guessed what the switch was for!

I've got so many things on the go - I've postponed the vacuum till I finish rebuilding the front and rear end. Then I'll go back to the Vacuum. Give me another week or so! Time is rare these days!
