drag c4

nifty:
i was thinking the same thing ....but all depends on gearing, traction and a host of other things....ive seen on video  of american drags where 2 top fuelers have ran almost identical times with a 40mph difference in speed.same as when they shut off at mid track....they can run a 9sec pass at 80mph....big difference between quickness and speed..
having said that the timing lights could be out....who knows.but this is the same timing gear they used at the f1 gp for victor bray to do a demo pass at the adelaide gp before the vics stole the race away....

nifty:
heres another of mates 511ci hemi....he has ran it to 5.2 for our 1/8th mile.
due to the lack of a 1/4mile track in south australia he is limited to the 1/8th for now. but it will get on the 1.4 one day.....it has ran an 8sec in the usa without the blower and a slightly bigger engine combo.
ive seen it run before.normally as stright as a die....this meet hwever he was all over the track...even backing off on a few runs.when you can get most of the big horsepower cars snacking and hazing the tyres through the traps there must be a traction problem....

nifty:
but for a local club in a town of 20,000 people we do alright on the racing front.....last year 2 of our cars were austrlaian record holders for pro-stock cars...one had the et the other the speed records....the et record was for held by a bloke with only one leg...steve norman.he put the car on its roof at sydney earlier this year when he clipped the wall.

69 DIRTY RAT:
nice hemi! Jeez that 1/8 track must be frustrating, when will that damn govt build a proper 1/4!

nifty:
good question....there is a 1/4 in adelaide but andra and bob jane the owner are not talking...so no racing.
could be a 1/4 built by a private party in pt augusta....80km away from here.
