Front Fender Lourvers

(1/2) > >>

Sting 69:
I was recently on the US forum but no could help. I watched some factory 69 chrome fender inserts sell for $385. on Ebay. I looked at some after market ones through Ecklers and they were half price. Of course non- genuine.
Therefore my question is has anyone looked at these cheaper ones or put them along side a genuine item. If someone has fitted them how did they look.;42

Hello Sting 69,

It all depends whether you are NCRS inclined or not, and yes apparently there is a difference, but you couldnt spot them at a distance.  You also would have to lick flick them to feel the noise to know!

The cheaper ones i believe are made of plastic, (some one correct me there) where as the genuine GM NOS ones are made of diecast metal.

I have the genuine ones.

Chromie:
Hi ;laugh
The after market front louvers are alloy and are a better finish than the original
The original ones have inperfections where the after market ones do not
I have both types in stock
The after market ones just dont have the GM part number on the back
Be aware that often the louvers will not fit as the flutes in the fibreglass have been altered by age or a prevous repair.;38

69VETTE:
There you go ;30

I knew something was fishy... you cant trust everything you read....thanks Chromie.

:x

nifty:
must be the same as trim rings for ralley wheels....i had new aftermarket on mine and a damn sight better quality...
