Corvette Convention 08
« on: March 25, 2008, 11:41:43 PM »
I was in Adelaide over the weekend and went to the show and shine.

The cars were well set out, all in great condition, a well put together display.

Spoke to a few owners, some of which stayed in my hotel, hope they had a great weekend.

The weather was a nightmare coming back into Melbourne Monday

i didnt go...working.....but bit of consolation....was knocking off work yesterday when i was driving through traffic lights....and there was a vic rego orange 76....
flagged him down and had a chat.....bloke called bones.,he had an orange mohawk and orange goatee to match his car........he got second place for original....he said hop in so parked my car and off we went.....damn nice car.....very original and never been restored cept for paint.....he even let me have a drive.......bumped into him again this morning....he in no hurry to get anywhere...indeed...whyalla where i am is 4 hours the wrong way to his home.......he heading back to vic today,again.....in no hurry...when he gets there he gets there. he tells me he drives it everywhere.just came back from qld in and week later done the convention....next mth hes driving to perth. that to me is what a vette is all about....all well and good to own one but if its not driven why own it? i had mine 7mths and did 9000 miles in it.....loved everyone of them as well.bones also owns a 32 ford roadster hotrod.....which is even sweeter than the vette.

Now there's a car that should be in (limited) production. They could charge what they like for it and still have too many orders.
It's C3 chromie for me, see? Si!

yeah he was.....he got offered a room for the night from buddy with an 80 vette, but didnt want to impose.....heck of a nice bloke.....and from what ive heard he had a ball at the convention....he was more than happy just cruising with a 6 pack of bourban in the back,,,,,didnt crack them until he stopped for the night, then mellowed out....i dont know many people who would throw the keys to their pride and joy after knowing them for 5 mins either......
