Ive also had a 110litre tank made up by a localguy down my way , if andy,s guy is busy this guy can usually knock one up in a couple weeks , you will have give some dimensions as mine and andy,s both have had to remove our spare wheels, because were running 18 inch wheels,& other mods, so the dimensions my guy has would not fit your car,
you can go a lot larger than stock and still keep your spare,
I,m away for work till friday ,if you need his details give us a call on the weekend 0407 012359

Here's some pix, the guy I use will be busy for a while, surely there would be an aluminium guy up your way that could do the job?

The guy that makes the tank will have to fit an aftermarket sender to suit!

Sounds like you need a different sender.

The sender is a variable resistor that's connected to a float arm. As the level in the tank changes, so does the resistance of the sender, thereby changing the voltage or current (depending on the system) measured by the gauge.

The sender's resistance varies in proportion to the float arm's position in the tank -- that is, half full should cause half scale deflection on the meter.

You may be able to compensate with an additional resistor. Suggest you discuss this with an autosparky.

Spoke to Mick on the phone.  It was doing this with the old sender after some dash work was done.  I'm betting on the earth wire to the gauge.  Without this connection you will get faulty readings.

See diagram below

From memory the tank resistor is 0 ohms when empty & about 40 ohms when full

;45

If this is correct a dirty earthing connection could give a resistance so as the gauge does not read empty, try wriggling the earth conections at the point where the gauge is earthed  and see if the gauge varies.

Great result. By my calculation that's about a 46% increase in capacity over the standard tank.
