A brief look at a day changing A C5 Clutch

(1/3) > >>

G'day gang.  Brian our Treasurer has a C5.  Welll the clutch spat the dummy so it was time to rip it out.  I offered the use of my hoist and a hand full of the boys chipped in to help.

There was Gary L, Steve T, Bill A, Andy L , myself and of course Brian.

Talk about a team effort.

Being a trans axle means that the gearbox is in the back with the diff and suspension.  Yes that means that the whole back end has to come out to change out the clutch.  The following are a few shots of the event.

It went quite well.  Gary and Steve were the brains of the operation and on the workshop manual while the rest of us grunted for them and put in our two cents worth here and there.  It was a bit of a challenge but I have to say after doing one I would not hesitate to help do another now we know some of the tricks.

Damm fun and interesting.

Yeah, so if I ever see you dropping the clutch and smoking them up look out. ;53 :22

BrianVette:
But I thought you said that you were expecting that of me ;53

Remember we still have the heads and cam work to do.  Wander what happens when the cam gets put in backwards? :grr ;39
