May be someone can answer me...I have an automatic transmision Turbo Hydra-matic 400 and my question is:
If I am driving at 40 miles an hour on the position 3 (D: drive). I often dropp it to 2 in order to get more torque and oumphhh and i have to admit I instantly can feel the difference
Now Can this damage the gearbox?

No. Dropping it back a gear manually is no big deal and it would certainly take a lot more than that to damage a turbo 400. (trust me i have tried:22). However prolonged use of the lower gears, especially 1st will heat up the trans fluid and may expel a little fluid out through the dipstick.(usually drips down onto your exhaust producing a nice grey smoke).

allso if you wanted to beef up that tranny,B& M make some neat quick shift packages that will make your box stronger and evan spin the wheels when you stomp onit through the gears, not just on take off but between the gears;42
