No, I doubt that I'll be able to make it on the day. I start back at work on the 29th.
Btw, I saw your letter about our Fox Studio's show in this month's Street Machine.

Thanks. I'm quite pleased with the way it ended up. Now I have to fit the mesh to the openings to finish it off. I fitted the rubber seal yesterday with some double sided tape that my son (the auto upholsterer) had. It's way better than using contact adhesive.

Next project...making up a dedicated cold air induction set up. I noticed a nifty K&N air cleaner element in Street Machine that is flat and should work nicely with the scoop opening. All I have to do is design and build an air cleaner to suit! Sounds so simple doesn't it! :b2
I might try to incorporate it with an idea I have for a cold air induction I was thinking about making before I fitted the scoop.
And here's me thinking I was gonna do some work on the house this year and leave the Vette alone!;30

Here's a full sized shot that shows the scoop pretty well, but the angle of the pic makes it look shorter than it actually is. Looks better in person.;);27;)

Ta....I'm tossing around the idea of painting some GT stripes over the middle of the car, but blending them into and around the scoop on the front as well as the filler cap on the back. I thought that silver stripes along with similar coloured sidepieps might look cool. I just wish I had some way of seeing my designs on the computer first. I'm not up with Photoshop unfortunately.

Brutus, that's a fantastic job on that scoop! I remember you had some doubts about how to finish it in the early parts of the project but that does look natural so again congrats !!

As for Street Machine, Jeff Seddon is the editor's name and is fairly receptive to reader's letters. He especially has a soft spot for Corvettes. He can be contacted on jseddon@acp.com.au or (02) 92639742.

I spoke to him ealier this year regarding a 50th anniversary spread for Corvettes but they'd already had the Fox article planned so we missed out.

Also, let me know if you wish me to do any graphic mock up for you on the GT stripes with this pic and re post.

Hey Rebel thanks for the stripes...it's beginning to look like I had envisaged it. Now is it possible to put a thin blue or charcoal pinstripe down the outside of the silver ones and reduce the gap between them on the roof and the rear deck to the same as the front? A little closer there would be good too. Great job so far.;35

Yep I noticed the pipes thank you.........nice touch. Even tho those pinstripes look over the top I do envisage them to be a lot thinner and not touching the silver stripes. Having said that tho I'll probably go with a charcoal pinstripe and see how that looks.
Thanks for your help too. It certainly made a difference in convincing my missus that they would look ok on the car.
