i like the centrelines.they stick out a bit far but look tuff.this is a nice car.he bought it about 2 mths ago from alice springs.the 80 nose is glassed in.also has 80 mirrors, rear exhaust cut outs filled in,and front of rear gaurds are flared out.hard to spot they done that well.it was only when it was next to gus's 80 that i noticed the flaring.

pud took it out the other day.went to get reverse and snapped the lockout lever.had to push it backwards from parking space.pud pulled it apart, and made a new one from stainless, got me to tig weld the small levers on,gave it a polish and it works a treat.

If I can digress for one minute,

If ya ever do stuff like that Nifty, take pics of each step of the job, do a little step by step story of what the problem was and what your doing to fix it.  Then post it into the appropriate tech tips section here.

It could end up on our WEBSITE's new Tech Torque section, which is under construction.  A sample of what I'm talking about can be found HERE

ok will do...ive done a few projects now. tig welded some brackets for gus 80 so he could mount his front spoiler(original missing) and fabricated and welded up his seat runner.front bolt hole was gone alltogether, copied the other side(which was cracked and ready to snap).also added stiffener plates to them.alas no pics taken. i heard this was a common problem..

its a 350 with a 4 speed. lumpy cam fitted.now this thing totally blew me away when i first heard it.at idle it sits on just 400rpm.you can hear each cylinder cutting in and out.how it does'nt stall has got me beat, but when he gives it a boot full.man its got a nice bark to it.the interior does need a tidy up and so does the engine.mostly cosmetic.puds an instro fitter so wiring is not a problem.interesting it has a thermo fan fitted.he drove it back from alice and didnt miss a beat.his headlights struggle to come up sometimes but if he gives it boot full and backs off they pop right up. he lives 2 streets away from me and i see it every day, down the road from him and turn right is another 73.also red 454 4 speed, that my importer mate brought over from the states.the BB vette is in mint cond, but the guy who ownes it is not really an enthusiest, just a young kid with lots of dough to spend.he didnt even know what a vette was until last year when he was at the pub and an out of towner pulled in to load a slab for the drive home.he got chattig to the bloke and ordered one.he nearly got ripped off big time with a R.H.D. car he almost bought...the car was  supposed to be a 71 year LT1.in need of a spray paint but original to boot....for 21k????? either the deal of the decade or a hmmmmmmm i wonder.for the 21k it included a new paintjob and new tyres......spoke to a few of us,and we sort of told him to be careful.he didnt know what an LT1 was.turns out it was just a normal small block vette with a completly rusted chassis.he ended getting  the red 73 from importer mate.paid AU$ 35k landed.i must get around and take pics of it.
