The vette's currently in Steve's shop having the extractors ceramic coated. I've always worn them Gold and liked them but it was difficult to keep the paint from burning off even with VHT's 1200 degree (f) paint. I inquired about anodising them gold but again the heat tolerance will not do for extractors. So in the end, I decided to get this done ...

As you probably know, ceramic coatings have excellent heat retention and therefore increase power output. It's obviously also good for the engine bay and interior to be cooler.
So with all that gold paint left over though, I decided to ....
http://www.ement.com/Photo/DSC00235-a.jpg <- the pic really does not do justice to the finish. After 4 coats of VHT's gold and 2 of VHT clear (both 1200 degrees) it honestly looks like honey flowing over the caliper. I first prepared the caliper by cleaning wit heaps of PREPSOL to remove oils, dirt and grime. I only left about 20mins between coats and the color is quite deep. Let's see if it stays there though and resists heat.
Also, here's what I'm hiding under the aluminium rocker covers ...
http://www.ement.com/Photo/DSC00237-a.jpg <- larger push rods, roller rockers, springs valves etc etc. It's a shame to hide them isn't it ... any such things as glass rocker covers ? These are less then a year old and were necessary when I snapped a push rod after racing the car at the GMC400 (well, they were 30 yrs old). Instead of just the pushrods, I decided to do the lot!
Here's another with the ceramic coated extractor fitted.

This is Steve: not sure if that's a smile or a smirk as he adds silicon to the metal pressed gasket.

You've got a great lot of mods going there Rebel. One thing tho is that it's not totally necessary to use hi temp paint for the brake callipers. It's the discs that get real hot as opposed to the callipers which aren't subject to as much heat. I've done mine with just normal spray enamel and haven't have the slightest problem. Just a small observation and not a crticism at all.

Get perspex rocker covers...

LOL, why is everyone so carefull not to appear critical .... ;laugh
I had the gold paint left over anyway but that's good news that they don't get hot. It means that gold paint will stay there.

Looks like you've got a nice clean car rebel. Did you have to order custom headers(extractors) since you have the RHD conversion? Red= COOL! :22
BTW, I have seen clear rocker covers, if I can find the info I will post it for you.
