77cvt and forum,

Here's a shot of the steering box I promised a week ago in a previous post. What makes it unusual is that it is mounted on the outside of the rail instead of the inside. This means that the exractors don't have to be modifed on that side.

Steve reckons it's a Japanese box but says he's never seen ths kind of setup before. From a driver's point of view I have no complaints. The car steers easily, is accurate and predictable.

Brutus:
Mine's from a Toyota Cressida, but is still mounted on the inside. I'd love to know what yours is before I fit my extractors.

Brutus,

I'm not sure how to find out. There is not much known about the car's arrival here except that it was in 1980 and by a "high class escort". She must have had it converted and apparently paid some bucks to get it done, but without any branding on the box, no compliance and no doco's, how can you tell .... ?
:an

Brutus:
Maybe a Jap car wrecker could identify it from your pics.;ay

rebel:
down there for dancin' mate .... I'll post it on a jap forum for starters ...
thanx ..
