welcomed a new vette owner into our very casual and unofficial sort of a club..c.o.w.'s
corvettes of whyalla.gus has his 80 in shed, going in for conversion on jan 16 and new guy pud just got a 73 from N.T..73 nice car,has an 80 nose.350 4 speed.missing were craigs 75(flat battery..traced to glove box light staying on) steves 69 BB(no rego)tonys 74BB and nathans 73BB..both working.heard a rumour nathan is selling his 73... matching 454 4 speed in red,in top cond.lhd i hear over 50k.

next time i visit i will take some pics of his vette stuff.models books pics etc... gus is a walking vette book.
interesting how we met.he used to be a boilermaker, now a wharfie so i knew who he was.heard he had a vette so when we changed his crane ropes one day we got talking....the first vette i went in was in 1984....he DROVE the same car in 1981...was blue first then white when i was in it....total show piece,and still around.1970 LS5 454 4 speed.when he got the 80 he joined corvettes of s.a. club and was in adelaide talking to the pressident ....gus didnt even have a photo,just the rego number...went something like this..."yeah went for a drive in 81,rego of car yada yada yada...blah blah blah....have never seen it since...."
hmmm says the pres.......come in my garage,and under a car cover their it was getting motor rebuilt to run on l.p.g....it was for sale last year for 50k...sold in a week....
