temperature for C4

(1/4) > >>

onya:
Left bargo car show around 2.00pm on Sunday (damn hot day), and travelled along M5 then M7, had the aircon on and the water temp reached 90 deg, engine oil read 101, is this to high or is this in the safe range. I think if something was going to let go it would of then.

77CVT:
Oil is normal.

Temp - depends on your block condition.  Mine was cleaned at my rebuild and runs at less than 80deg during the day and up to 50 deg during the night in winter!!!

Most will run 80-90 deg.  I wouldn't worry too much but it always pays to flush the system/rad out every year.

Chromie:
Hi onya

What you may also need to do is make sure the radiator is free of leaves and other items around the fins and fan shroud. Often you cannot see it due to the A/C condensor.
Same for the oil cooler make sure the fins are clean
Do you have a lower spoiler if so is it attached well and in good condition
And finally check your thermostat and thermo fan operation.;42

Vette Obsessed:
Both sound normal onya and definitely in the safe range in my opinion.

If it makes you feel any better, my oil and water temps both peaked in the range of 110C when I was circulating Oran Park on a hot day a few weeks back - and everything is a-ok with my motor still. ;42

Chromie:
A workshop manual might have the acceptable running temepeatures in it:24
Usually when your are getting close to 200 degrees F it is time for concern;37
