[PICS] Variety Club Charity Track Day
« on: November 25, 2006, 11:21:51 PM »
A few of us went to a trackday hosted by the Variety Club today.  Here are some of the pics I took:

After the first couple sessions I got into a groove and I had a blast... I have the bug again. :willy:

Also finally got a ride in ZEDohSIX's car (and he is a damn good peddler :v).

Anyway, here are the pics...

M3 CSL

I love the CSL's roof (carbon fiber) :v

The M5 eventually got out onto the cicuit, and after his second lap he had an off and could not restart the car :banghead:

Too bad this never ran

Nice plate

The dark side came too ;41

What do you do when your Monaro won't get third?  Drop the box and disassemble it in the pits of course!

Holden Monaro (aka Pontiac GTO) - this thing had an aftermarket cross ram intake, too bad the car was so heavy

The EVO again

The owner of the EVO had a sense of humor

The end

WHAT A GREAT LOOKING DAY
Geeeeeee i wish that i had the car on the road as i am so jealous that i couldnt get there.
great turn out with lots of vettes.
what a pity that i couldnt get a ride with shane in the Z06 because that thing would be orsom around Oran Park and yes VO he CAN drive.
BUT, now that i have started operation "asskicker" it will be worth it.
New toy about to breath life and we will have a strangle hold on the leadfoot forever 850hp 1150kg Australian sports sedan series here we come.

Here's some video of the day: look out for the thirsty horse and some comments from our fearless leader.

VO took me for a drive shortly after this and I have a healthy respect for how hard you guys muscle your cars around a track!

It was good fun!

150km = 91 laps = 30 passengers = 70litres BP98 = 47l/100km = 6mpg!

Z06 did all the driving in those videos.  I was the first passenger in the video.

I didn't hook my camera up on the day, although now I wish I had. ;30

I only used half a tank (although I did fewer sessions) and timed my day really well in that something in my power steering let go on the way home.  I saw light smoke (aka oil burning on exhaust) wafting up past the passenger window 5 minutes from home, then I felt my power steering come and go.  By the time I got home it had well and truly gone and I was dripping oil up the driveway. Doh!

Aside from having to get under it to see what let go, I'm most frustrated that I couldn't try vacuum bleed the system after I got home as a test of sorts.

I still have a BUNCH of footage to get to you... My favourite of which is the 140mph run in a supercharged C5 at the crack of dawn. :24
