Security Dash Light

Always wondered what the security light on the information dash panel was for? (85 model)
Tried to start the car with the cold start sensor disconnected, (been having trouble with warm start ups) and the horns go off.
The only way i could think of to stop them was to disconnect the battery.
Waited a while and reconnected battery and sensor, all ok.
Anyone know how to turn the horns off without going for the battery if this happens again??
Not sure if 85's should have the ignition key with the coded pellet but mine does not.

The only time my horn has gone off is when the alarm is turned on from inside the car in the door lock panel  by accident ,as I opened the door from inside and the alarm went off, and the only way to turn it off is to get out of my car and reopen the door lock with the door key("88 have two keys, one for ignition with coded pellet and one for the door). It all comes down to the alarm being set and me open the door.I don't know if this is same problem as you are having, just my 2 cents.

I agree with White88, just try the key in the door lock.
