aircon -whats that
69 DIRTY RAT:
thanks mate ,I was thinking of that too.I occasionally talk on the us vette forum.but hopefully you'll get a response
Brutus:
I think the main reasons for disconnecting the A/C from most of these older cars is mainly heat (Vette related), but more often than not is the fact that the older A/Cs ran on R12 coolant which is no longer used and the cost of replacing the gas along with new seals (for the different gas R134) is too much...... they're just too cheap to fork out for the money to do it all right.

Not to mention the crap conversions that are out there (mine included  )! I ripped my stuff out and it dropped 10 deg.
That's why they have t-tops anyway!

my aircon has got the gas conversion stcker on it????? bloody thing.when you say heat related what do you mean? did it make the engine run hotter???.I think my next step is to jetcoat the pipes under the cabin, that should cut it down-cause thats half the problem.I already have under carpet foil and a cover over the gearbox.BUT it still cooks.but then again travelling at 200 clicks takes any problems away!!!! IF all else fails I'll get the aircon fixed.
