Over Drive Units

Looking very hard at it. I'll finish her off first. Then may be later this year when I do the rear end........might just add something to the gear box.

Camo,
Came across this old post. Did you fit off a gear vendors overdrive?
If not has anyone on the forum fitted one into their vette?
Ive got the same problem all c3s have over revving.
When I bought the care fuel economy wasn't considered but this thing just bangs out loud.
I've been looking for a simple fix, NAND came across this bolt on solution.
Any one used this yet?
Cheers,
Lefty

The best thing you can do for your C2/3 vette. Is fit n over drive gear box

God, that goes back a ways :thud:
Didn't fit it to the Corvette as I ended up running a 2600 stalley and with the O/D the torque converter would have been on slip the whole time. But I have fitted one to my manual Dodge Charger. It's great. With 354 diff gears it was great around town but revved too high on the express way, about 3300rpm at 110kmh. Has dropped it down to about 2500rpm. Much better. They're not cheap. You're looking at 3 grand for the unit plus cost to shorten ya tail shaft and labour to fit. Don't event think of attempting to fit one yourself unless you know your way around the mechanics of your car.
