Following on from my last post on the steering.
If ya recall I had a problem with the alternator belt hitting the new power steering pump and was going to machine up and idle pulley and bracket.
I purchaced the idler pulley from the local bearing supplier and had the bracket machined up.
The new idler pulley is bolted to the Billet Specialities Alternator Bracket using this bracket machined from billet aluminium. It was machined to follow the contours of the alternator bracket to ensure that it sat flat and did not rock. It is held in place by a single bolt that goes through it and the alternator bracket and into the head. Small tabs that resulted from the machining process act as location tabs and prevent it from turning on the alternator bracket during bolt up.
As you can see here the pulley belt now clears the power steering pump with room to spare
Here you can just see the location tab sitting in the valley of the Alternator Bracket
