Great project!! I was always rather partial to the 427 and 454 big block scoops of the 68-70's and thought that would look good on my C3. I made many graphic samples to see how it would look and I liked it but decided against it after seeing the under bonnet of another vette with the same idea. I think it's still a good look but definitely needs the inner cowl cover I think ....

ps: you can add more then one pic per entry ...

pps: I must be slipping, I didn't notice the hooters calendar until you mentioned it ...... ;-)

ppps: I agree with 77cvt ....

Brutus:
Rebel...do you still have any pics of the C3 or other Vettes you've seen with the same scoop fitted....especially the underside?
I haven't really gone into the possibilities of what I may do in that area yet except just to finish it off as best I can. Actually that's where I'm at today before I go to work this arvo. I want to try and get it finished this week and back on the car as soon as possible.
While most of the hard work is finished, the awkward stuff like making sure all the surfaces and angles are perfect is what will take some time now. With the way I've had to graft and fit this thing, there are a few compound angles that have to be perfect before I can say it's done.
I'll keep you posted.

rebel:
The pics I have were only composite mock ups I did in my graphic package to see how my car would look. I can send these to you if you think they'll help but that bonnet was the LT1 type on the big block 68 - 70's .... yours is the stinger.

HANG ON!! Just remembered something .... a while ago someone from a US vette forum was selling a 68 with the stinger bonnet ..... I'll check my files and get back to you ... watch this space!!:o

rebel:
OK Dude ....

Feast your eyes on these .....

not a bad lookin' vette either although I don't really dig the square lights ....

ps: I'd also suggest you don't forget to dress it on the inside with the appropriate cowl. These should be available from the Eckler's catalogue although someone with your engineering skills could manufacture one. I know you're more into peformance rather then "shiny" but given the time the bonnet spends being open it's worth making it look as best as you can. The fibreglass work can look pretty bulky otherwise.

Just my 2 bob's worth ..... get it "2 bob's worth" ... ahh I won't give up my day job ....
:22

Brutus:
Just as well you have a day job. ;laugh
That's the scoop I'm working on alright but without the stinger. Plus mine is being grafted onto the existing rise in the bonnet already which gives me even greater clearance than that car in the pics. Maybe the pics I posted don't quite show that clear enough.
Btw, have no fear about me excluding 'show' quality shine in what I do...that's why my mate in the States calls me nasty names for being too fussy.
What does "anally retentive
'  mean anyhow?;ay
I'll try to do better.............promise.
