Battery Disconnect Switch
« on: August 21, 2006, 08:32:40 PM »
For all those who have electrical issues, here is a helpful hint I would like to share....  One of the best $20 I have spent for my vette is to buy a battery disconnect switch... it beats the heck out of having to use a spanner to disconnect the battery.... the switch knob is finger tight and when required I can reset the 'puter and all things electrical in seconds.... it is also great when I leave the car idle for any period of time.

you can see it at www.CorvetteCentral.com pn# 171255

I fit a marine battery isolating switch which requires no modification and fits between the battery + terminal and battery cable and is less than $15.00.
It is also a good insurance idea. If there is ever a short and a fire starts simply pop the battery door and turn the knob 1/2 a turn and the battery is dissconnected no tools required.:bold

And you can buy them at KMart / Supercheap for under $10.
Just don't tell anyone where you bought it.
