Code 44 Lean Exhaust

(1/2) > >>

White88:
Today my vette through a code 44 on an uphill strech of road.Under load I imagine.
About a week ago it started surging and a hesitation developed.The manuel says it could be oxygen sensor to ECM
wires, ECM to ground wires, fuel pump pressure or oxygen sensor.I tend to think it might be the fuel pump I haven't put a pressure gauge on it yet as I don't own one. (I'll have to buy one tomorrow)The car won't rev out that far either 3500rpm.   ;30

Any idea's guys.

Thunder Kiss:
I'm no expert, but it may be a worn fuel pump, clogged fuel filter or dirty injectors.

White88:
Thanks Thunder Kiss for the reply, I changed the filter 2 weeks ago, changed the fuel regulator as well but still there, she starts a lot better now though but still the other problems.Also it started pinging under load easily, base timing set at 6 degrees with EST plug disconnected. I'm starting to think there is other problems as well. When I put the fuel pressure gauge on I'll now where I stand.

TIPPA:
By the sound of it i personally doubt it would be dirty injectors, so most likely narrows it down to fuel pump on its way out. Not sure about injected vettes but i do know you can pretty much guarantee VN onwards commodore tank (boost or primer) pumps will die at 120,000 to 150,000kms. :}
