A 60s Corvette parts sourced racer now being re-introduced as a continuation of the original race car..
The Cheetah roared to life in the early 60’s. It soon became a legend: the perfect racing machine. The brainchild of California’s Bill Thomas, the new car proved worthy of its name: muscular, agile, lightning fast.
When a fire sent the tooling up in smoke in ’65, the 23 Cheetahs (all that were built) became collector’s items. Now a new car, built with updated technology but carrying on the same proud tradition, repeats the Cheetah’s roar. Not a replica, but a continuation of the original, authorized by Bill Thomas himself.
Tremendous power, coupled with low weight, gave the Cheetah the quickness to live up to its name. Chevy had a new place on the track and the Cobra finally had a contender.
Stories sprang up quickly in the wake of its performance. 185 mph at Road America. 215 at Daytona. A car this fast couldn’t help but build a fanatical following.
