I Agree.

The engine bolck stamp should have the VIN derritive. Blocks should be stamped like this:

V0101CLJ - (V = Plant, 01 = Month, 01 = Day, CLJ = Engine Suffix Code), followed by a second stamping,
77S414860 (year-VIN derritive).

'77 350/180hp engine suffix codes are:
CHD: A/T CA
CKD: A/T Hi Altitude
CKZ: M/T Federal
CLA: A/T Federal
CLB: A/T Hi Alt. Federal (early '77 build)
CLC: A/T CA (early '77 build)

Get back to me on the engine number.

VIN (CHASSIS) # 1Z37LZS414860
1Z = Chevy Corvette
37 = Coupe
L = Base 350/180hp
Z = Should actually be a 7 for 1977
S = St. Louis, MO assemby plant
414860 = Build sequence

Adam:
My engine number is:

T073IZCA
IAS438768

Is that a good number to have?:an

It's not so much a matter if its a good number to have as if it matchs the chassis number.  What is your chassis number?

[I'm retrieving the information off the DC site from C5D.  I notice that you visit there.  Im sure he would relay the information direct on your numbers]

I'm just helping out ozdood as I don't think he visits the DC site for information.
