Brutus:
I saw the sidepipes done to Peter E's old Vette and while they looked all nice and neat coming out the side of the car, they ended up all uneven from the engine to the outside pipes. In other words they didn't do sh#t for the performance of the engine. I believe they were made from someone around Warrick Farm.

If I recall correctly the person who bought Pete's 74 had the sidepipes done by Hume mufflers in Warwick Farm.

Having said that, I would assume that the setup of the pipes between the engine and sidepipes would have been the decision of the person paying for the job (not that I have seen anything except the sidepipes on the car themselves).

Yes you're right about where he had them done Andrew. I spoke to the guy at the Fox studio's show a few years ago and he didn't appear to have enough mechanical knowledge to have been able to make a decision as to how he wanted the pipes to be. I quizzed him particularly about them as I was interested in getting sidepipes for my own car.
All I could gather from what he said, was that the sidepipe extractors were built the way they were because that's how the builder decided to do them and for the amount he paid at the time (over $2.500), I would be less than happy with the "finished" product.
