Nice pix on your website Nik, Flares RULE Brutus & Nik! I've been doing some research on flares, because I'm putting Flares on my Secret Weapon.Nik Ive read your bit on flares.I have found that flares were only an option on 1968-72 vettes that had J56 option heavy duty brakes i.e L88(mid69),ZL-1(mid69),ZR-1(70-72),ZR-2(71) vettes that were made for racing.Only when requested They were put in the back parcel shelf to be put on by the buyer (only for racing purposes, which doesnt mean they didnt end up on street cars !). In your case I would highly doubt that the flares & J56 brakes were original on your car, although its possible that the dealer installed them ???. Also the Flares on your vette look like Ecklers Flares which arent the original style.have a look at the back of the famous racing L88's 68-69,they taper into the guard at the back of the flare, unlike yours which look like an extended/wider version of 70-72 normal guards. Also look at www.acivette.com, they have the proper style. I think/hope I'm correct so that others will know! Eklers flares are also cheaper!
Nik:
yeah i learned they are eckler flares
I really should update my website :) I love em :D

You should get offset trailing arms with the flares, you can fit another 2 inches of rubber yeeeeehaaaa. My tires will be 275x35x18 & 335x30x18 (I could put 345's). I'm giving away too much info!!!!!
Nik:
ive got 15x10's on my rears. I was contemplating getting new wheels, but I have a few other things ill be buying/fixing/restoring before I consider that option.
I'm thinking about saving for an LS1 down the line too :evil
