Rear bush kit recommendations

(1/1)

Matt G:
Hi All,
Looking for recommendations for a full rear poly bush kit for my 1970. I’ve got a rear clunk (which may be my uni joints), but the bushes are in mixed condition, so I figured that I’d start there. I found this from Ecklers (https://www.ecklerscorvette.com/1963-1982-corvette-total-suspension-kit-polyurethane-25-108381-1.html) but I’m sure that wiser people have some experiences that will help more.
Also, is it worth changing all bolts at the same time? I would think yes (and keep good originals as spares), but wanted to check. Bolt kit source recommendations are also welcome.
Thanks, Matt

I did a 78 years ago, cant remember supplier, poli type all round.

Stiffens suspension, make sure you use the special grease plus plus or they squeak & squeal if not enough used.
And believe me you cant use enough.

The only bolts I changed were the long hangers on the rear (ring barked) - all else looked fine.

I have gymkana suspension option - took a while to get front sway bar bushings as its enormous. Ended up with rubber.

Once done - a new set of Shockies will give you great handling.

If doing front you need a couple of special adaptors to press out the wish bone thingy/bushing.

A 12t bottle jack press works fine.

Thanks Vettech. I search for the grease as well. 👍

Poly bushes are available locally from Ponti world at Oak Flats. Energy Suspension brand they are available in red or black have had in my 78 for quite  a few years with out any problems. I have used rubber grease instead of supplied lube which looks like Vaseline. Can be ordered on line with free express post if order is over $150 from memory. They have all consumables  for C3 & C4
