Where to get C4 tyres
« on: July 22, 2022, 04:34:44 PM »
Hi everyone, it's many years since I was active on this forum!
I live in Cairns, bought my C4 in 2003 and I had great help from members here in the early days, I hope you can help me again.
Due to ill health my vette has sat idle and the Nexen tyres are now 15 years old.
It seems that our 275/40/ZR17 tyres are very hard to get.

Unfortunately I have to sell the car and so I don't want to put very expensive tyres on it.
I have found 3 brands in this size - Maxtrek M1, Federal ST1 and Kumho Ecsta Pa51
But the speed ratings are all R not ZR - will that cause problems for insurance or passing Roadworthy?

Does anyone have any recommendations or bad review for the above or something else?

thanks

Rob

I've bought four Kumho Ecsta PA51 from Tyresales.com.au.
They're rated W98 which is 270kph.
$1224 shipped to Bridgestones  a local Cairns tyre depot, fitted and balanced.
In case it helps anyone

I replaced C4 90 back before Covid.

A member up in NCLE recommended these as they handled wet & dry, did Not have high road noise and were good wearing.

I got Kumho Ecsta 4X - 275/40 ZR17 98W

I asked an aquaintance at Minto TyrePro to get me a set and quote for supply, fit, bal & align. (Plus disposal fee)
BUT i advised him I would reject tyres if older than 6 months, they turned up after a few weeks, fresh only 3 months old

And from memory under $800. These handle well, they will light up if pushed, but are quiet and feel great in the wet.

Made in Korea - so far so good.
