C3 Rack and Pinion Steering

Hi Clubbers,

I am thinking of putting a RHD rack and pinion steering in my BB C3 corvette any info such as advice,  tips, hints issues, photos etc. you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Be interesting to see the build, RHD rack will not be an off the shelf purchase, have you talked to an engineer to see if they will sign of on that mod.

Easiest way is use a Camira centre take off rack and mirror the steeroids conversion. You need the long travel to get lock. I used a Commodore rack with engineer shortened arms. While I was doing it I got rid of the bumpsteer and added achermann angles. it was a lot easier with a bare chassis and no springs.

Yes an off the shelf for BB are available, but the RHD part ?

Whether they would sell you a kit less the rack ?

I would like to do R&P on my 78,  of course only a SBC, but is RHD.

We did have a member with a C3 who built a well engineered R&P set up, he was over Coogee way, cant remember his name.
He had documented his whole process c/w pics, but have lost contact .
