:hi: Good morning Trigger, may I ask where did you get your rubber from? :pepper: Cheers

Hi there Kenobe,

after alot of calling around and research it was cheaper to buy from a supplier on ebay,
they are based in seven hills and it was only $30+ freight
$856 for 4

Any yellow derivative colour vette is good.
I would say the red top is the best but yes they are expensive.
I prefer the gel type battery as is right there behind the driver.

What ever battery you get also get yourself a trickle charger.
I like the CTEX  5amp
Bfit

Ps welcome , see you on a run soon

Hey Mate,

Thanks for the info, ended up buying a DIN Century battery to ease costs on at least one part for now as REPCO had 25% ,
Deff will be using my 5amp CTEK as i have a Trans am also with a sneaky voltage loss from somewhere.
will put a negative cut off on the terminal also like i did with the TA.

count me in on a cruise guys and girls!!!

The oem belts are to short.they will need to be changed to Australian compliment belts to get rego .
As stated below talk to Geoff Eaton.  He well have everything you need in the seat belt department.
You could sort it yourself , but Geoff’s prices are good and he knows all the problems that will hold you up working them out.

The headlights need to be changed to dip left  as high beam to low beam.

The rear indicator lights need worth as well.   To comply

Does the car have AC, if yes that will need work .
If it has AC the gas would have been drained in the US before exporting .

These as  most of the things that need to be addressed

Hey Bfit,

Funny thing is the AC gas hasnt been drained and works well ,
only putting her on club rego so im pretty sure you can keep the car fairly original to the states, red indicators etc.
we are only replacing the belts as they look a little worn and very short.
good idea with the head lights i forgot about that.

other than that guys will just try and enjoy her and slowly fix some more odd jobs like body mount rubbers etc

cheers Nick

I'm pretty sure I recognise this car from book face, where it was parked next to a 77 Bird :)

As stated, headlights, seatbelts and indicators are the main thing for compliance on these.

Read through the hychill aircon thread also for input on the AC.  Much cheaper than updating the system to a modern gas type if required.  Also safer that what some people will say.

Hey Scott,

did you see it on my personal page or a pontiac page ?
what year is your vette mate ?

Cheers Nick

I saw it on the Pontiac page.  My vette is a 73 vert with an 80's front end grafted on.  I also have a 77 bird that I purchased mostly in boxes that I'm currently piecing together.
