These last 2 are out off  a Chev service manual.
But the cct dia clearly shows the lite is driven by the magic box.
At 30++ years I'm sure some bits have given up the ghost.

Electrolitic Capacitors are the 1st to go, but replaceable. Any luck they have gone O/Cct. (They can explode or ooze - either one can be BAD)

Best unplug unit at 1st opportunity, either have a look yourself, or let me know, as you know I have a very rigid, tight and full itinery, but I'm sure I could fit it in somehow.

Regards.        P.S tap on pic to expand, then U can move, enlarge etc to read.

been looking for an internals pic.

see attached pic. looks like one 14dip chip - possibly a 555. or a driver with "AND" Gates as inputs.
the ony cap looks like a polyester, thats good, bunch of resisters , diode or two, easy peasy..

Archaic design, notice the "U" shaped metal piece, this is bi-metalic strip achored at one end, then coil of wire heats it up, bends, looses contact, cools, returns to normal, makes contact, heats up and so on...

Any onee with an actual cct diagramm for this device - it would be appreciated... Sorry I cant get the pic on as its too big.
