The mid-engine Corvette has been one of the longest running red herrings in the history of the modern automobile. As every successive generation of Corvette has been set to debut, the mid-engine rumors always come swirling back. This has been the case since the father of the mid-engine Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntov, raced Corvettes back in the 60s. Of course, those rumors have always been inflated by General Motors’ continual concepts and design theories involving mid- and rear-engine sports cars.Well, the mid-engine “Zora” Corvette is no longer a fan theory. It’s the real deal, and it’s fast approaching, with all evidence pointing towards a reveal at North American International Auto Show, held in Detroit this upcoming January.
