Registering my newly imported C3
« on: February 15, 2018, 08:10:17 PM »
I have just imported a 1979 L82 and want to register it as an historic vehicle.  The registration papers call for the VIN number and the engine number.  The engine number is not on any of the documentation. I googled where to find it, but the A/C is bolted over the pad, I think.  Some forums suggest the engine number is the same as the VIN, others say it's a VIN derivative.  Can anyone help me to avoid unbolting parts of the motor!

If the car has the original engine in it  part of the engine number  will have the last 6 numbers of the vin
In shor you need to,get to the pad under the a/c bracket.
It’s quit possible there will be no number there , if the engine is a crate engine or has been reconditioned.

You will also need to sort your head lights , tail lights , indicators and reversing lights to ,Australian compliance
Then there is seat belts to replace .

I'm surprised that detail wasn't needed for the import authority paperwork.
It's C3 chromie for me, see? Si!
