Previously you couldn't transfer Personalised Plates which we thought was a bit ordinary. So we worked with Roads and Maritime Services to change this - and now you can.

So just think, how many times has someone said 'hey I love your plates'!? Well, now you can say 'do you want them?'

To find out how you can transfer your plates, give our Plate Specialists a call on 131 758 during business hours (8.30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am-12pm on Saturdays) and they'll explain how it all works.

I was under the impression , you could always transfer your personalised plates . there is just the fee`s  to do so and yearly on going fee`s.
its all personalised, so there has to be a profit  or nothing happens.

Only the high-priced premium (or whatever they call them) plates were transferable. Those like my XX-999 style black and white had to be handed back to RMS when you sold the car if you didn't transfer them to another of your own vehicles.

I investigated this procedural BS a while back when I spotted a B&W XX-999 plate that I liked. The process was: I had to buy the car from the guy with the plates attached, then transfer the plates to my other vehicle, then get plain vanilla RMS plates for the car I bought, then sell that car. And, of course, I had to pay the annual fee for the XX-999 plates.

I haven't yet looked at what the new process is that they refer to in the email I got.

And I'd bet my bottom dollar they have a lot more individual steps that will each cost ~ $45 ea per step.

They are thieves, other States are much better.

The government of NSW has been a pack of thieves since the Rum Rebellion (1808).
