Chev. Camaro is go for Aus., in Holden showrooms next year
StephenSLR:
The iconic Chevrolet Camaro pony car will fill the V8 void in Holden showrooms next year, almost five years ahead of schedule — and ahead of the next generation flagship Corvette sports car due in 2020.
Holden is preparing to import the Camaro SS and have it converted to right-hand-drive in Melbourne by its longstanding performance-car partner Holden Special Vehicles.
Although the Mustang and Camaro compete head-on for price in the US, the Chevrolet is likely to be at least $20,000 dearer than the Ford.
Camaro pricing is yet to be confirmed but dealers have been given an indicative cost of between $80,000 and $90,000 on the road — about the same as a HSV Clubsport — with a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed auto.
Dodge is also said to be considering building the next generation Charger SRT sedan and Challenger coupe in right-hand-drive from the factory

Only in Yellow.
But GM / Holden still behind the times, how antiquated.
Make in US, import, then destroy - sorry convert in Australia.
I used to think Ford were slow, but they were quick to build RHDrive cars in-factory US.
"B's" new Mustang has great finish, performance, handling and comfort and its only the 2.3Turbo.
Every modcon is standard.
People in GM/Holden should try earning the big bucks they are being paid.

There's no point, without tariff protection Aus. built cars just can't compete; our govt. killed our car industry when they lifted tariffs on imported vehicles.

No Steve, I'm not saying we should turn back time and make here, what is done is done.
But GM have been pipped at the post by Ford, by several years, and now they are going to offer an expensive "second" as competition.
What GM/Holden need is a dose of "CLEANERS" to purge the overpaid deadwood.
Only then will they wake up and realise they are loosing sales on a daily basis.

Yeah, that's a joke. Nobody predicted the success of the Mustang and I don't see a converted GM with a 20k+ premium even coming close.
The take away I got from the article: Dodge is also said to be considering building the next generation Charger SRT sedan and Challenger coupe in right-hand-drive from the factory and hopefully the 2020 Corvette will also be RHD from factory.
