Procedure of removing shims from upper control arms

(1/2) > >>

jimandemma:
Hi all,
after lowering the front of my 75, I have around 2 1/2 degrees negative camber both sides. On the upper control arms, there are two 1/8" shims front and back on both sides. To obtain close to positive camber again, can I remove these shims by loosening the nuts with weight on wheels, or does the car need to be jacked and wheels off?

Thanks in Advance,
                              Jim

bfit:
Loosen the nuts and pull the shims out, do the nuts bach up tight

do you have a caster gauge.
Camber you can do with a level.

jimandemma:
No caster gauge Bfit. Will probably take it to a wheel align shop. Caster is currently 3 1/2 degrees both sides.

bfit:
What do you want to achieve.

jimandemma:
yeah, happy with that caster, just want to get a bit more positive camber to bring the top of the tyres outboard. So I can do shims with weight on wheels?
