ive seen it... sort of. It's damn sexy. Surprisingly great condition.

I knew you'd seen it under your other handle of Flared69 Nik. What arrangements have you made to bring your own car over here and when?

none just yet.

My major concerns are with regards to the noise of the beast at the moment and NSW law stating that a car has to be under 96dB.

Once I sort that out, importing will be my next priority.

We may be able to work with each other. I'm unsure about the right companies, when I bought my vette Murray Foreman, one of the NSW club members who I'd expect you know (He's the stock controller, husband of Wendy the Librarian), gave me his business card and told me to speak to him when I was ready to import everything.

He imported one of his vettes a while back and said the only scratch on the car was on the tyre...

I think he's the one to call :)

I've yet to speak to anyone in particular about importing the car especially since it'll be the end of October before I get the thing ready for shipping.
As for your noise levels...are you running a chambered muffler system with your sidepipes? I bought back a set of STS baffles last time I was in the US and have them in my sidepipes now. haven't had them checked for noise levels, but they're far from loud. I'll be fitting another pair to the other car while I'm over there actually. My good mate Scott can get them direct from the manufacturer if you're interested.

yeah they won't fit in my original exhaust as far as I have been able to find out....

Nothing will.

I might have to get rid of my original in favour of the hooker system, which isn't my preference.

Hi,

I bought a 68 vette in Pheonix AZ.

I used SGS vehicle inspectors to check the car over. They do a 150 point check on it and you get the results over the web. You can even call the inspector who checked it out if you have questions.

I used a agent here. Nick Smith International Freight (VIC) 03 54706411
I found Nick very helpful and honest.

My car was packed really well in the container and didn't get damaged at all.

Total cost for Nick to do all the paperwork including packing and unpacking in Aus, import approvals and customs clearances, and etc was $2850aus

The car was delivered to (Marrickville) Sydney in 5-6weeks

The only additional charge was customs $55, Quarantine inspection + Steam Cleaning (if car is not new, you will be required to have this done.
TOTAL =  $220

So all up $3125 + gst

Because mine was a 68, i didn't need to worry about compliancing, or LHD.

I got the car registered in a week after importing it.

Good Luck.
